IEEE Seoul Section HMPC(TENCON) Workshop: IEEE Seoul Section Recognized IEEE 50 years loyal members

The IEEE Seoul Section held the HMPC year-ending meeting with the commemoration of the 42nd anniversary of the founding of the Section on December 28 last year at Westin Chosun Hotel. The IEEE Seoul Section's HMPC(Higher Membership Promotion Committee) meeting, a representative institute of electrical and electronics field, is a group of people who have led the development of semiconductors and ICT, which is the basis of Korea's growth engine.

90 attendees including members, their families, and guests have been invited to celebrate members who have been promoted to IEEE Fellow, and have held a small concert with speakers. This time, it was the commemoration of the IEEE 50 years loyal members Prof. Souguil Ann (Seoul National University) and former minister of electives Yang Seungtaek.

IEEE-IEIE Joint Award winner Professor Sang Heon Baek, Professor of Korea University, gave a keynote talk on the past, present, and future of internet. Mr Lee Jonghyuk from Hongik University Student Branch introduced student entrepreneurial activities. Prof. Chawoo Lee of Ajou university gave a presentation regarding 'TENCON 2018' and all the participants toasted for the 'Intelligence Outbreak' to take a leap for Korean economy in 2018.

Outstanding volunteers from the section were also recognized for their valuable services for Smart Tech Workshop 2017 and Student Paper Contest.
